Freshly out of the BVI charter fleet, this South African-built cruising cat pairs 25 feet of beam with four ensuite cabins — and she's already sitting in the Caribbean.
Broker Chesnee Cogswell of BVI Yacht Sales filmed this walkthrough the right way: under sail. The video opens with the jib going up and the boat tacking her way upwind, drone footage tracking the hulls through Caribbean chop, before heading below for a tour of the accommodations. The subject is S/V After Glow, a 2017 Voyage 480 recently phased out of the Voyage charter fleet in the British Virgin Islands.
Built in South Africa for Blue Water
Cogswell makes the case for the Voyage 480 as a solidly built, dependable cruising catamaran — the kind of boat worth shortlisting if extended cruising is on the agenda. He was, by his own account, impressed by the performance: eight to nine knots in a good breeze, with a reputation for being forgiving and easy to handle.
The helm layout backs that up. All lines are led aft to electric winches, so the boat can be sailed shorthanded while the person driving stays in conversation with everyone in the cockpit. That connection between helm, cockpit and salon is a recurring theme here — the 25-foot beam yields genuine volume, and the salon flows seamlessly into the cockpit to form one large social space, whether at anchor or underway.

Galley, Cabins and Systems
Inside, the salon is bright and well laid out: a settee to starboard, a centerline breakfast bar, and a U-shaped galley to port. It is equipped for long passages and busy guest weeks alike — double drawer fridge, deep freezer, propane stove and oven, full kitchen essentials, and even an ice maker.
After Glow is configured as a four-cabin, four-head layout, so every guest gets a private ensuite. With the forward crew berths included, she sleeps up to ten, which suits either a charter program or a large family cruising together.

On the systems side, she carries a generator, watermaker and air conditioning, and Cogswell reports consistent maintenance with all systems functioning as advertised. His one honest caveat: budget for a solar array if you intend to live off-grid. Otherwise, he describes her as turn-key and ready to go.
Where She Sits in the Market
Cogswell positions After Glow as priced better than her sister ships currently on the market. For context, here is what the Voyage 480 market looks like on YachtSite right now:
| Active Voyage 480 listings | 1 |
|---|---|
| Asking range | $375,000 |
| Median asking | $375,000 |
| Listings with a price cut | 1 |
The other advantage is location. She is already lying in the BVI, which means a buyer can step aboard and start sailing in one of the world’s best cruising grounds — no delivery, no repositioning, whether the plan is to re-enter charter or point the bows somewhere further afield.
