Dry-sailed at Nanny Cay and cruised only in the British Virgin Islands, this two-cabin Beneteau is set up for easy, turnkey island sailing.
Some boats wear their history in their gelcoat. Others, like S/V Sea Hunt, have been quietly looked after. In her video walkthrough, broker Liz Day of BVI Yacht Sales explains that this 2018 Beneteau 38.1 began life in a mooring fleet but spent most of her time up on the dock — light use by any charter-market standard. She’s now privately owned and enrolled in the Nanny Cay dry-sail program, taken out only for relaxed BVI cruising.
A cockpit built for anchoring out
The open cockpit is the centerpiece: dual helms, sail controls led aft for simple shorthanded handling, and a drop-down swim platform that turns the transom into genuine outdoor living space at anchor. A generous bimini and clear dodger keep the crew comfortable, while clean, uncut side decks make the trip forward straightforward. With a 5’6″ shallow draft, the tucked-away anchorages that many deeper boats skip are fair game. Sails and canvas are original but, per Day, remain in good shape.

Bright, modern accommodation
Belowdecks the 38.1 feels notably open for 38 feet. Wide double doors swing back to connect the forward cabin with the saloon in a studio-style flow, and large hull windows pull in light and a view of the water. The galley is compact and practical, with a front-loading fridge and a propane oven and stove. Two private heads, a separate shower stall and a generous aft cabin suit a cruising couple with occasional guests.

Systems and gear
A 29-horsepower Yanmar diesel sits in an engine compartment with excellent access from the front and sides — a small detail that pays off on every oil change. Electronics are a full B&G suite with touchscreen plotter, autopilot and AIS. Two 50-watt solar panels, an inverter and LED lighting throughout support life at anchor, and the boat is sold complete with an 8.5-foot Achilles dinghy and 5-horsepower Yamaha outboard.
Market context
The Beneteau 381 is a thinly traded model, so comparables are limited. Here’s what the site data shows:

As Day puts it, Sea Hunt is ready to go cruising the day you step aboard.
