Herkee is a non-chartered, converted Lagoon 380 sailing catamaran. Since purchasing her in 2020, the current owners repowered her with new Yanmar 40hp engines and sail drives, added major solar and lithium power systems, and de-masted her, creating a self-sufficient, “off-the-grid” power catamaran.
At eight knots Herkee is an excellent trawler platform.
Benefits of the de-masting include a lower center of gravity, reducing the crab walk found in rougher conditions on a sailing catamaran, a 13-foot air draft, and cleaner decks without any rigging components.
