Cameo is a 2015 Leopard 48 sailing catamaran, USVI registered and USCG documented (no import fees). For sale by owner (no sales tax), initially offered directly to provide maximum value to the buyer. We are not interested in trades. After two wonderful cruising seasons with our young family we are returning to land-based life and schooling for our three children — Cameo is a well-cared-for family boat or spacious 2 person cruiser ready for her next chapter. Owner is willing to assist new owners with instruction.
This is the spacious four-cabin layout of the Leopard 48, a configuration that provides four en-suite cabins to comfortably accommodate family or guests. The boat was never placed into bareboat charter; she was captained early during commission and subsequently enjoyed seven years with a single private owner. The last two seasons were spent cruising the Bahamas and the Florida Keys. During off-seasons the vessel received numerous upgrades that add tangible value and make her turnkey and ready to cruise.
The Leopard 48 was engineered with bluewater passagemaking and comfortable performance cruising in mind. The hulls are vacuum-bagged with a balsa core for high stiffness and reduced weight. Her shallow keels are foam-filled with closed-cell polyurethane to resist water ingress and improve reserve buoyancy, and both bow and stern have sealed collision bulkheads. A practical transverse passageway aft enables safe, unobstructed movement between hulls and simplifies dinghy handling to the davits. The single-spreader Sparcraft fractional rig is straightforward and efficient, supporting easy sail handling and good upwind performance.
The bridge deck layout is organized for offshore comfort and onboard livability: a forward-facing navigation station to port, a generous saloon table and settees, excellent ventilation, and direct access to the forward cockpit from the saloon for added safety and social space. The Leopard 48’s innovative layout and overall design earned it Cruising World’s Best Multihull (2013).
