Jubilee | 2015 Leopard 48

Jubilee represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of the nicest Leopard 48s currently available on the market. Recently refreshed with extensive maintenance, mechanical servicing, and cosmetic improvements, she offers the ideal combination of proven cruising capability and turnkey readiness.

One of the most striking recent upgrades was the professional removal of her gray hull wrap, revealing exceptionally well-preserved original gelcoat beneath. Protected from years of direct UV exposure, the hulls retain an impressive shine and appearance that immediately set Jubilee apart from comparable vessels. Combined with recent bottom paint, rigging work, saildrive service, and numerous system upgrades, she presents as a vessel that has benefited from significant recent investment.

Originally purchased before entering the bareboat charter fleet, Jubilee has spent much of her life under private ownership and private cruising. She has cruised the East Coast and Caribbean successfully and remains ready for her next owners to continue the adventure.

Whether your plans include Bahamas cruising, Caribbean passages, liveaboard life, or extended offshore exploration, Jubilee is prepared to go.

Why Buy Jubilee?

Unlike many Leopard 48s that come to market with lengthy deferred maintenance lists, Jubilee has already undergone substantial post-survey improvements and upgrades. Recent cosmetic and mechanical work and comprehensive system servicing have significantly reduced the need for immediate attention.

Designed for Cruising

The Leopard 48 has earned a reputation as one of the most successful cruising catamarans ever built. Her signature forward cockpit creates an entirely separate outdoor living space while maintaining excellent airflow throughout the vessel. The raised helm provides outstanding visibility under sail and while maneuvering. Wide side decks, excellent engine access, generous tankage, and a practical systems layout make the Leopard 48 particularly attractive for owner-operated cruising.

Jubilee’s outfitting makes her equally suited for weekends aboard or extended island cruising.

Accommodations

Four Cabin / Four Head Layout

Jubilee features the highly desirable four-cabin layout with four private ensuite heads, making her ideal for family cruising, liveaboard use, or charter operations. The bright and open salon provides panoramic visibility and excellent natural light. Large windows create an airy feel while maintaining sightlines throughout the vessel. The accommodations include generous storage, ventilation in the cabins, and comfortable sleeping arrangements for extended cruising.

Galley

The Leopard 48 galley is designed for serious cruising and extended living aboard and is well equipped for provisioning and meal preparation.

Exterior Living Spaces

Jubilee offers multiple outdoor entertaining areas, including a signature forward cockpit, a spacious aft cockpit, and a raised helm station, all designed for social cruising and comfortable entertaining. These spaces are arranged to maximize comfort, sightlines, and interaction while underway or at anchor.

Mechanical Systems

Engines

She is powered by twin Yanmar 4JH5 diesel engines that have received recent service. Saildrives were serviced with new housings in 2025, propellers were replaced in 2025, and the port and starboard engine heat exchangers were replaced in 2026.

Generator

The Northern Lights 9 kW generator has been recently serviced, including injector and fuel pump work.

Electrical Systems

The electrical systems include shore power, an inverter/charger, and a solar array, and air conditioning is installed; engine and generator start batteries were recently replaced.

Electronics

Electronics have been upgraded to a modern Raymarine package with updated navigation, radar, autopilot, and communication systems.

Sailing Systems

Standing rigging was inspected and cap shrouds were replaced in 2025, and the vessel is configured for offshore cruising.

Anchoring equipment and the anchor chain were recently replaced and the anchoring system is fully functional.

Broker’s Remarks

Jubilee stands out in today’s Leopard 48 market because the expensive work has already begun. Recent investments in saildrives, standing rigging, cooling systems, windows, electronics, bottom paint, and chain replacement, as well as cosmetic improvements, have significantly improved the vessel since her most recent survey. The recent removal of the hull wrap revealed beautifully preserved original gelcoat, giving the boat an appearance far newer than her age.

For buyers seeking a capable cruising catamaran with extensive recent upgrades and immediate cruising potential, Jubilee deserves serious consideration.

By Stephen Lloyd

Growing up in Cape Town, South Africa, my passion for the ocean was ignited at a young age through surfing and scuba diving along the stunning coastline. In 2001, at the age of 16, I set sail with my parents and sister on a Dean 365 Catamaran, leaving South Africa behind to cross the Atlantic. Our voyage took us to Brazil and eventually to the Caribbean, where we spent a year cruising together. In Sint Maarten, I pursued a four-year apprenticeship at FKG Rigging, where I honed my skills and became competent in the art of sailboat rigging. It was during this time that I met my wife, and we were married in 2005. Our shared love for adventure led us to travel through the UK, South Africa, and eventually the United States in 2010. While my wife completed her degree, I founded The Yacht Rigger, a mobile rigging service and online parts store, serving the inland lakes of Tennessee and North Carolina. In 2014, our journey brought us to St. Petersburg, Florida, where I relaunched The Yacht Rigger as a mobile service alongside my father, Richard. What began as a modest operation has grown into a thriving, 25-person multi-service team based out of Salt Creek Marina in downtown St. Pete, thanks to the support of my fantastic business partners, Brian and Andre, and our dedicated employees. Throughout this journey, I've been incredibly fortunate to have the unwavering support of my loving wife, children, and everyone who has been a part of this adventure, from family to business partners and our exceptional team.
