S/V USHAS is a Luperón based 1978 Peterson 46 Offshore For Sale By Owner. This owner requires financial settlement only. No trades.

USHAS is an actively cruised offshore yacht built on the Doug Peterson/Formosa 46 platform and developed through documented professional projects into her present configuration: approximately 48 feet at the hull and 51 feet overall including the bowsprit. The major structural, mechanical, rig and systems work has already been completed and documented.

She combines genuine long-range capacity and exceptional service access—approximately 203 US gallons of fuel, 300 US gallons of fresh water, a stand-up engine room and a separate adjoining workshop—with two private staterooms and two heads with showers. Major improvements include an engineered composite deck, a comprehensively rebuilt Perkins diesel, renewed rig and sails, and a 2025 integrated Victron electrical architecture with a 920Ah Epoch Marine Elite LiFePO4 house bank.

USHAS retains the substantial hand-laid fiberglass construction, protected center cockpit and beautifully handcrafted teak interior associated with the Peterson/Formosa platform.

Her structurally integrated stern forms part of the hull and aft deck, creating a substantial working deck, valuable cruising storage, practical water access and a longer effective sailing waterline. Under full sail in favorable conditions, we have observed approximately 8.5–9.2 knots, together with excellent tracking and an easy, balanced motion.

Major structural and mechanical projects were completed by established specialists. In 2017, Trans Atlantic Diesel comprehensively rebuilt the Perkins Marine 4.236M 85 hp diesel; it was then installed and commissioned during the Deltaville project. During 2017–2018, Deltaville Boatyard—an ABYC Standards Accredited service facility—completed an extensive documented project that included an engineered honeycomb-cored composite deck replacing the original teak deck, cockpit and aft-deck modifications, and installation of two custom Luther’s marine-aluminum fuel tanks. Tank drawings, serial numbers and pressure/seam-test reports are available.

Mack Sails completed a comprehensive 2018–2019 rig and sail project, including replacement standing rigging, refurbishment of the Hood mast and furling system, and new Mack sails. Hinckley Yacht Services subsequently completed documented haul-out, bottom and cutless-bearing service.

A major 2025 professional yard period at RAM Marina addressed the hull, topsides, bottom, through-hulls, mechanical and shaft-line systems, cutless bearing, running rigging, winches and deck hardware. The same modernization period produced an integrated energy system built around a 920Ah Epoch Marine Elite lithium house bank, Victron MultiPlus 3000W inverter/charger and Ekrano GX monitoring, approximately 800W of solar, and a Balmar 250A alternator with WakeSpeed regulation. The onboard AC system is 110V, with dedicated 110V/220V shore-power charging capability for international cruising.

Current cruising systems include Raymarine Axiom navigation, Quantum 2 Doppler radar, Evolution autopilot, fixed and handheld VHF with AIS capability, Starlink, dual-zone Ocean Breeze air conditioning, dual refrigeration and a separate deep-freezer system.

We continue to live aboard, cruise and maintain USHAS, so her systems remain in regular operation and can be demonstrated. The gallery combines current presentation photographs with recent images taken while sailing, cruising, living aboard and completing professional yard work, giving buyers an unusually complete view of USHAS in actual use. The walkthrough and operating videos likewise show the yacht as she is today. Professional yard records, engine documentation, rig and sail records, refit invoices and supporting photographs are available for serious review.

USHAS is located in Luperón, Dominican Republic, approximately 1.5 hours by road from Puerto Plata International Airport. Clear title. Independent inspection, survey and sea trial are welcomed, and a focused live video walkthrough can be arranged before travel. Subject to timing, route, weather and mutual agreement, owner-assisted delivery toward Florida, Puerto Rico/USVI, St. Martin, Grenada or another agreed destination may also be considered.

Private sale by owners.
