Proven Offshore Pedigree. Thoughtfully Modernized. Ready for the Next Adventure.
For sailors seeking a proven offshore cruising catamaran with modern systems and a documented bluewater history, Octavia represents one of the finest examples of the St. Francis 50 available on the market today.
US-flagged and duty-paid, she has spent recent years cruising extensively along the U.S. East Coast and throughout the Bahamas and Caribbean under the care of experienced owners who have continually invested in meaningful upgrades that improve reliability, efficiency, and long-term livability.
Commissioned new by her original owners as Sulliere and built by St. Francis Marine in South Africa, Octavia completed both Atlantic and Pacific crossings before continuing years of Caribbean cruising. With major investments already made in her electrical systems, rigging, sails, navigation equipment, and onboard systems, she offers the opportunity to step aboard a proven offshore yacht that is prepared for extended cruising.
Designed by renowned South African naval architect Angelo Lavranos, the St. Francis 50 earned Cruising World‘s Cruising Catamaran of the Year award in 2008 for its blend of offshore capability, sailing performance, and liveaboard comfort. Built as a semi-custom yacht using vacuum-infused vinylester construction over Corecell foam, the design remains in production today as the St. Francis 500a, a reflection of its enduring design and continued appeal among experienced bluewater sailors.
Rather than pursuing interior volume at the expense of offshore capability, the St. Francis 50 was designed from the outset as a serious passagemaker that sails efficiently, inspires confidence at sea, and remains comfortable to live aboard for extended periods. Octavia builds on that foundation with thoughtful modernization and equipment selected by owners who have actively cruised the boat.
