40′ Mabry Hull Commercial Workboat — “Liam James”

Custom-built by her owner specifically for commercial seafood harvesting on the Chesapeake Bay, the Liam James is a turn-key, ready-to-work vessel outfitted with everything needed to run a serious operation.

The pilothouse is equipped for solid navigation and visibility in all conditions and paired with hydraulic steering and dedicated hydraulic pumps to run your gear. Below deck, there is an insulated under-floor ice box to keep your catch fresh, along with multiple storage locations for gear and supplies. Deck space is generous, giving the crew plenty of room to work.

Nearly everything aboard was installed new in 2024, so this isn’t a boat that needs to be nursed along — it’s ready to put straight to work harvesting crab, oysters, or fish. Built by a waterman, for watermen.

Chris Adriance

By Chris Adriance

Chris Adriance’s passion for the bay and his career spent on the water make him a great broker.

Chris spent his youth fishing and boating in the Adirondacks and other inland lakes of upstate New York. Following this passion, he has pursued a career as a fisheries biologist. Logging well over 100 days each year on the water.

He and his wife have been cruising the bay for nearly a decade now. First in their Catalina 25, Josephine. Wanting to go further and stay longer, they soon upgraded to their current Catalina 30, Josephine II.

His passion for being on the water doesn’t end there. His weekends are spent crewing on one of the local Annapolis J/105 boats. Previously he crewed weekly on a J/35. When he isn’t doing that, you might find him and his family motoring around ego alley in their vintage 1968 Boston Whaler that he restored.
