A return to real sailing. Built for extended ocean passages and covering serious distances with confidence, “Conquest” is not your average catamaran. She is a genuine sailor’s boat — designed to roam the world’s oceans. In a market crowded with dockside “condomarans”, it is exceptionally rare to find a yacht in this price range that truly sails. With her powerful, purposeful profile, beautiful lines, and uncompromising construction, Conquest stands apart as a blue-water machine for those who measure their journeys in sea miles under sail, not marina nights.

US DUTY PAID – US Flagged –

Conquest had brand new standing rigging added in 2020.

Mark Wattrus

By Mark Wattrus

Born and raised on the coast of South Africa—home to some of the world’s premier catamaran builders—Mark Wattrus was immersed in the marine lifestyle from an early age. His passion for the ocean first took shape through freedive spearfishing, where he trained under world record holder Trevor Hutton. That deep connection with the sea would eventually shape a global career both on deck and behind the scenes in the yacht industry. At just 18, Mark was awarded a bursary to earn his 200-Ton Captain’s License, and by 19, he had already skippered a 50ft catamaran to Madagascar through the Mozambican channel. Over the next decade, he logged multiple transatlantic and Indian Ocean crossings, and served aboard both high-performance sailing yachts and luxury catamarans. His hands-on sailing experience spans expedition charters, dive programs, delivery passages, and private liveaboard charters in the Seychelles, Madagascar, East Africa, and throughout the Caribbean—often alongside his wife, Halle, a professionally trained yacht chef. Mark’s technical proficiency was shaped in part by time spent in engine rooms learning under an Argentinian marine engineer. That early mentorship sparked a broader interest in marine systems, leading him to work closely with boatyards, shipyards, and manufacturers. He has since overseen major refits, supervised complex repair work, and most recently, managed the design, build, and successful delivery of two 57ft catamarans—guiding each project from concept to completion. As a professional yacht broker, Mark has developed a trusted reputation for navigating complex transactions with discretion, clarity, and care. He has facilitated the sale and purchase of catamarans across multiple continents, working closely with international clients, legal teams, surveyors, insurers, and shipyards. His deep understanding of contracts, marine documentation, flagging, and tax considerations ensures a seamless experience for buyers and sellers alike. Mark also holds a degree in Marketing and wrote his final thesis whilst sailing across the South Atlantic with his Halle. Whether you're looking to purchase a performance cruising catamaran, sell a liveaboard-ready vessel, or enter the charter market, Mark’s global network and specialist knowledge make him a valuable partner at every stage of the process. Mark is now based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with his wife Halle and their daughter Lily. When not sailing or working with clients, the family enjoys hiking and spearfishing in remote destinations.
